How We Build Practice Questions
Every Certsly question goes through a four-step process before it lands in the bank. We document this publicly because we think how a practice test is built matters more than how many questions it has.
Blueprint mapping
Every question is tagged to a specific sub-objective in the vendor's published exam blueprint (AWS, CompTIA, Google Cloud, Microsoft, or Cisco). We track domain coverage as we write so no section is over- or under-represented.
Subject-matter drafting
Drafts are written by engineers who hold the certification or one tier above it. We do not use scraped exam content or "brain dumps" — every question is original and scenario-based.
Difficulty calibration
We calibrate questions slightly above the real exam so scoring 80% on Certsly predicts a comfortable pass on the live exam. Items that are too easy or too hard are revised or dropped.
Distractor and explanation review
Every distractor must be plausibly wrong (not obviously absurd). Every explanation must teach the underlying concept, not just confirm the right answer. Items failing this bar go back for rewrite.
